Think Spring

It's been a long, slow approach to winter, and as of the end of January we haven't had much in the way of cold weather or snow. But it is time to send in the seed orders, anyway. We've gone through a big stack of catalogs and picked out a lot of seeds. We'll start the plants in a few weeks.

In the meantime there are a lot of winter projects to work on. Equipment maintenance. Barn repair. Lots of little indoor things, too, for the bad weather days. Design of the maze. Planning where to place the crops for annual rotations. Making signs. Winter is also the time when farmers go to meetings and trade shows.

So we'll be waiting for spring, but hoping it doesn't come so fast that we aren't ready for it.

Not yet, but soon(?)

We recycle bags. We can use clean paper and/or plastic supermarket checkout bags, but not the thin vegetable bags. We don't care whose name is on the bag.
